Nanook of the North

Winter is finally upon us - we had our first snow. There has been a constant snow flurry all day long. We bundled Jack up in his Siberhian husky hat and pea coat from Grandparents B and took him out for his first exposure. His response was opening the mouth to eat it.
As for me . . . I hope this is the last time we see this stuff! :)

Vacation Blues

We had a wonderful holiday down South visiting mommy's family. Grandma Cat has turned Jack into a WILD man (just to clarify - he was crazy playing with all the toys laughing and moving about!). He loved all of the toys that Grammy had. We were amazed to see him use his little legs on the giraffe bike to scoot across the room. We enjoyed Thanksgiving with Aunt Betty, Uncle Neal, and the whole gang! It was delicious and fun to see everyone. Enjoyed several days with Grammy and Great-Grammy. Enjoyed a trip to Grandpa's art gallery store. That was neat to see his work on display. So we are now suffering vacation blues . . . Jack has even seemed not as chipper the past couple of days - do even babies suffer from this?!?!?!

We recovered a little tonight for a game of peek-a-boo!

Happy 7 Months!

It is amazing Jack was 7 months old last Thursday. Time flies fast when you are having fun. His two front teeth are starting to come in and between that and the continuous wheezing I have been a worry wart.

Today was a refreshing change - beautiful weather (68)! We enjoyed a little bit of time in the park.

Now for the best news - we have Jack scheduled for H1N1 vaccine next weekend. Now maybe I can stop being a worry wart!!!!

Happy Halloween - Grand Finale

Happy Halloween to all - we love you!

Happy Halloween - Part 2

Jack is celebrating his first Halloween. After many diligent hours and a repair following the festivities of Halloween at daycare mama has finished Jack's parrot costume. He is looking forward to visiting the neighborhood with the 4 year old next door who is a pirate. Mama will be also dressing as a pirate (Jack tried on the hat) and will anxiously awaiting for her parrot to return home!!!!

Jack started out the morning with a puppy costume that we received from Aunt Julie about 10 years ago. Keeping with a Hallo-fashion show he also sported a first Halloween apparel. Stay tuned for more photos . . .

The Sweetest Sound

Lately Jack is laughing lots. Lots of things are funny - hide and seek with mommy, splashing in the bath, his own name, and daddy pounding on the bed . . . .

We are enjoying a rainy, lazy Saturday and hoping for sunshine tomorrow, so that we can go get some pumpkins! Uh, oh - mommy still has a lot of work to do to finish the Halloween costume.

1 Minute with Jack

Happy 6 Months Jack!

Back by popular demand . . . last Monday Jack celebrated his 1/2 year birthday! He is growing like a weed. The past month has been a difficult time as he has been sick for almost all of it - stuffy nose, continuous cough, and wheezing. Despite all of that he continues to be a smily boy! Always a joy and blessing.

This month Jack started real food which has provided us lots of entertainment - he loves oatmeal, but is slow to warm up to everything else - fruit juice makes him cry, peas make him gag (tonight resulted in absolute refusal to eat), and sweet potatoes are okay (tonight following the peas sweet potatoes did not seem as bad)! Next on the menu . . . carrots.

YUMMY!

On Friday, we started Jack on solid food. He is starting with oatmeal just once a day. He does amazingly well as he is chewing on the spoon and taking most of it in. The remainder made for a few cute photos. Otherwise, we are enjoying the long weekend with a little bit of playing and rest - Happy Labor day to all!!!!

Happy 4 Months Jack!

Jack is a growing boy. He is now 13 lbs, 25 inches long. He loves to "talk" a lot and is becoming more active. He is enjoying reading Edward Tulane with mom. He is so funny as he stares at me so intently as I read that I would think he understood what I am saying . . . someday! :)

This month we our first trip to the beach - he was an angel sleeping in his raft on the beach and enjoyed sinking his toes into the sand. Plus, enjoyed a full week of mommy and daddy!

Blabberings from Jack

I am thoroughly enjoying watch Jack as he is developing and grows. It is truly miraculous to watch as every week it seems as though he is learning something new. Last week he was working hard with his hands. It was fun to watch as he got a real serious face and spend an hour banging his hands together. The end result is that his hands are no longer the tight little fists, but he now enjoys holding toys and playing with them.

This week he discovered his voice and is becoming quite vocal. He sometimes has a hard time getting started as his mouth will open several times and then once something comes out he keeps on going. We enjoyed a long story from Jack in the car home from Longwood - he talked for over a hour!!!! Below you will find some blabberings to Grandma B . . .

and a little laugh!

Don't Worry . . .

. . . you will always be our baby. We have 2 cats and they are slowly adjusting to not being the sole attention receivers in our family. They are very protective of Jack as often times when he cries at night I am greeted by Friday and Dahlia standing guard at the door of his nursery. Yet, they definitely still keep their distance and are easily spooked by Jack's movements or babblings. Sometimes they act out and other times they just are too cute and like us to remind us that they are still our babies!!!!

Below you will find some new places that we have found the cats hanging out. It definitely provided us with some laughs as we discovered them.

Happy Birthday Jack!

Today was also a big celebration as Jack is 3 months old today. Stay tuned I will post his 3 month video in the next couple of days.

Take Me Out to the Ballgame

This has been an adventuresome weekend with action packed fun. Today we took Jack to his first major league baseball game. We traveled down to the game with our neighbor and Jack's BFF - Megan. All was going well and we had a nice lunch at Potbellys. Then all our good planning went down the tube when we arrived at the stadium. We had excellent seats in left field, but it was HOT! Then as we were trying to get Jack situated we discovered that while we were prepared with three bottles for Jack we forgot the working parts (aka the bottle nipple). While I was busy trying to figure out how I could maybe get Jack to sip a bottle - Daddy was resourceful and ended up walking 5 blocks to CVS to get a bottle.

The usher was also a blessing as he allowed us to move our seats under the shaded upper deck as we would have cooked in the sun. Jack got a certificate for his first visit and an Oriole onesie. We enjoyed the wave and all the cheering. IT WAS SOOO MUCHHH FUNNN! Right Megan?!?!

Blueberries

I love summertime . . . today we enjoyed the afternoon picking blueberries at a local farmer's patch.
